The Wroxham

The brief

The client wanted a kitchen that would act as the central hub for family life—a space that was both practical and sociable, with distinctive design features that made it feel unique and full of character. The layout needed to cater to busy mornings, relaxed evenings, and everything in between, while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic with traditional touches.

The design

This Plain Norfolk kitchen is a classic contemporary space with a twist - featuring not one, but two peninsulas that bring both style and function to the heart of the home.

The first peninsula forms a uniquely shaped breakfast bar, with seating on both sides, making it a true gathering spot for the whole family to enjoy casual meals or snacks together. The second, a smaller curved peninsula, sits closer to the AGA, offering extra workspace for prepping and serving - perfect for busy mealtimes or weekend cooking sessions.

A showstopping natural quartzite splashback behind the AGA creates a bold focal point and brings depth and elegance to the design. The use of Carrara Quartz worktops throughout ensures continuity and lightness, while the Farrow & Ball ‘Plummett’ cabinetry provides a rich contrast that enhances the warmth of the sunshine-toned walls.

Flow was a key consideration in this open-plan layout. The tall cabinetry bank is designed with a subtle curve that draws you from the formal living room into the kitchen space, guiding the eye and setting the tone for the room’s inviting atmosphere.

Practicality is embedded throughout, from the bespoke cupboard with quartz display shelves tucked into the alcove, to the sink run fitted with a Quooker Flex boiling water tap and pull-out hose - all contributing to a seamless, user-friendly environment.

This kitchen delivers both beauty and everyday functionality, offering a stylish yet family-focused design filled with personality, warmth and thoughtful details.
