The Arches

The brief

Our clients wanted a bespoke kitchen that would complement and celebrate the existing stunning arch supports within their home. Rather than working around these architectural features, they wanted the kitchen design to incorporate them seamlessly, ensuring they remained a key focal point of the space. The kitchen needed to feel warm and inviting while offering ample storage, functional workspaces, and a well-balanced colour palette that enhanced, rather than competed with, the striking structural elements.

The design

To honour the beauty of the original arch supports, we designed the island to embrace and enhance their presence, subtly drawing the eye upwards and allowing the architecture to frame the space naturally. This approach ensured that the arches remained an integral part of the design while adding depth and visual harmony to the room.

A stunning curved dresser was introduced to soften the corner of the kitchen, creating an elegant yet highly functional feature. This piece not only provides ample storage and display space but also acts as a secondary focal point, balancing the proportions of the room.

A kitchen with blue cabinets and a large island in the middle of the room.

To create a sense of warmth and contrast, we incorporated limed oak detailing along the perimeter of the island. This introduces a natural softness against the quartz island top, while also defining a breakfast bar area, offering a relaxed, informal space to perch and gather.

The colour palette was carefully curated to achieve timeless sophistication. A blend of soft duck egg, beige, and cream creates a sense of tranquillity and refinement, while still offering enough definition to highlight the kitchen’s standout features. The result is a kitchen that feels effortlessly cohesive, elegant, and designed to celebrate the home’s architectural heritage.
